Some good news from The Bell

December 20, 2024

On Monday 16 December the government published its white paper on devolution in England.

We were delighted to hear that the government intends to replace the community ‘Right to Bid’ with a strengthened ‘Right to Buy’ for Assets of Community Value, and that it will support community ownership by funding projects through the Community Ownership Fund (COF) in 2024/25.

However, the government is not making any commitment on the timing of the next funding round, nor the amount of funding available. We also know that competition for funds will be fierce.

We are therefore continuing to develop a strategy to raise alternative funds from a variety of sources, which we will share with you early in 2025.

Thank you for your support, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
